2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
This verse reminds me of New Years day. A day that we look at the year passed and dream of the year ahead. We may think of the bad things that happen in the past year, maybe illness you dealt with or a loved one. Maybe you thought about an experience that wasn't so great, one you wish you didn't have to endure. Or maybe you are thinking of the good things that happen in the past year, the job promotion, the new job. A new relationship perhaps, engagement, marriage.
Whatever it is your thinking of this New Year's Day in regards to the year we just left, be it good, bad or otherwise, find refuge in the fact that Christ came so that we might be saved.
Romans 10:9 "Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
The year ahead is a new beginning, a fresh start.
God sent His son so that we will be saved!
On this New Years Day, a day that has been quiet, with inches of snow falling in Milwaukee, it is a day that the Lord has made and a day that I get a new beginning to confess Jesus IS Lord and believe in my heart that He has saved me! A day that lets me Worship Him.....and begin a new.
Happy Blessed New Year's Day.
May you find your Lord and Savior in your year ahead and see His works in your life for a new beginning!
